About The Position

Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector based in Pasadena, TX. This role is crucial in ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality, conforming to design specifications, customer requirements, and industry regulations. The inspector will conduct thorough inspections throughout the production process, utilize precision measuring tools and instruments, and perform dimensional and geometric assessments using advanced technologies. This is a 2nd Shift position, Monday-Friday, 2:00pm - 11:30pm.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalency (G.E.D.)
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing role.
Strong mechanical aptitude is a must.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach in high-stress situations.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents.
Experience with precision measuring tools and instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Basic to intermediate proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting.

Nice To Haves

2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of and prior experience with Fisher products, manufacturing processes and organization preferred.
Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is a plus.
Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections at various stages of production to ensure compliance with design, customer specifications, and industry standards.
Utilize precision measuring tools and instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to ensure product conformity.
Identify and communicate non-conformances, deviations, and quality issues to machine shop supervisor, engineers, and relevant stakeholders.
Document inspection results, maintain accurate quality records, and prepare reports.
Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and processes.
Collaborate with team members to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Provide guidance and support to machine shop operators on quality-related matters, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Conduct non-destructive examination (NDE) testing on materials and products using methods such as visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing, radiography, etc.
Interpret and evaluate NDE test results, report any defects or issues to management and production teams.
