Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); (1) one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and interpret Maintenance Manuals used for MRO processing.
  • Ability to use and properly read measurements from a variety of precision measurement devices including micrometers, site gauges, calipers, etc.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aviation related products and the FAA regulatory system.
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment.
  • A good understanding of mechanical structures and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine checks, test, gauging, and instrument inspections of material, goods in process, and finished goods.
  • Data entry, accurate record keeping and attention to detail are also very important.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of the team in developing and testing products and systems implementation are key.
  • Performs assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards.
  • Inspects visually for obvious defects.
  • Performs detailed visual inspection when necessary to determine quality of product where limits are not clearly defined.
  • Removes defectives and places acceptable product back in stock.
  • Notifies supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents or poor quality are noted.
  • Records results on inspection forms or charts and reports number of defects found.
  • Posts and maintains forms and charts of inspection data, quality levels, or special quality studies.
  • Makes recommendation on disposition of questionable product to supervisor.
