About The Position

April Steel Dearborn specializes in steel and aluminum coil blanking for automotive stamping. The Quality Inspector inspects finished products, verifies specifications, and supports quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. The role works in a heavy industrial steel and aluminum manufacturing environment, where PPE is required on the plant floor. It involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, working around production equipment, closely inspecting products, and handling materials as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Basic math skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable, organized, and safety-focused.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

Previous manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
Experience with measuring tools and inspection equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and company specifications.
Perform quality checks using measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Follow work instructions, control plans, and quality procedures.
Identify, document, and report quality issues or defects.
Verify product dimensions, appearance, and overall conformance.
Assist with investigating and resolving quality concerns.
Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
Support production teams with quality-related questions and requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all safety, quality, and company policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
