About The Position

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards through various inspection methods. This role involves reading engineering drawings, performing source and product inspections, documenting findings, and maintaining equipment. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years of inspection experience, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents. The work environment is primarily in a warehouse/shop floor setting with some office-based computer work. The role also includes behavioral and technical competencies related to safety, teamwork, communication, and the use of various software and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3- years Assembly/Mechanical/Receiving inspection experience
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, material specification and requirements.
• Pass the J2 Color and Acuity eye test.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models, rigorously applying GD&T principles to determine part compliance.
• Perform source inspections at facilities.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product evaluations.
• Perform detailed visual inspection.
• Document defects and non-conformances accurately in the ERP/QMS system.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
• Understand basic weld inspection techniques, weld symbols and common welding defects.
• Review inspection records received for compliance.
• Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper use of measuring tools and equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
• Communicate with production, engineering.
• Pass the J2 Color and Acuity eye test.
• Monitors and records relevant information during testing of equipment.
• Performs mechanical inspections on components as received from the suppliers using either traditional and/or electronic tools.
• Perform in-process inspections and record measurements and other relevant information (traceability) concerning capital equipment of completed assemblies.
