About The Position

Mirion Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for its Meriden location. This role is responsible for maintaining inspection activities, identifying and resolving problems to ensure product integrity and quality standards are met, and contributing to the 'Meriden Standard of Excellence.' The position also involves monitoring, supporting, and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) and fostering a positive work atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality inspection job functions at a manufacturing site.
  • Minimum ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Ability to quickly identify possible quality issues in the process or product.
  • Ability to work well and self-discipline under limited supervision.
  • Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Mindset and attitude to work as one team in the Quality department and one voice on the floor.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Able to apply knowledge to resolve unprecedented problems or issues.
  • Application of Quality tools like 5 Why’s, Fishbone diagram, Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent data collection analysis skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Working knowledge on APQP, control plans, PFMEA.
  • Computer literacy - knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, any other quality management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in quality assurance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Incoming Inspection process is completed on all required parts.
  • Monitoring and improving quality on the production floor.
  • Handling In-process Inspection on production lines or product cells.
  • Ensuring Quality protocols/standards are being met on the production floor.
  • Monitoring and improving supplier quality.
  • Handling and supporting supplier non-conforming products.
  • Ensuring the completion of the NCR (supplier Nonconformance Report) process.
  • Performing internal audits.
  • Creating internal corrective actions and ensuring the validation of corrective & preventive action effectiveness.
  • Coordinating with Production to ensure the Material Review Board (MRB) process is completed.
  • Coordinating activities for the calibration process for Meriden.
  • Improving work instructions for product manufacturing.
  • Participating in improving QMS documentation.
  • Creating, improving, and maintaining documentation for the Quality Department.
  • Understanding customer expectations and requirements and helping to implement them.
  • Ensuring all special customer requirements are met on their orders.
  • Participating in handling customer complaints and their resolution.
  • Working and leading in a collaborative manner, promoting cross-functional teamwork and business efficiency while maintaining superior levels of customer service.
  • Ensuring all employees go home safely at the end of their working day.
  • Performing other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
