About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming materials, in-process production, and final products. This role involves detailed inspection, record-keeping, and adherence to quality control procedures and customer requirements. The position requires flexibility with shifts and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in a quality control role.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Regular attendance is required (M-F, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM or 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM), with flexibility for shift changes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Basic reading and writing (English language) and basic math ability.
  • Familiar with the use of most hand measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Pitch Mic's, etc.).
  • Familiar with the use of inspection tools & equipment.
  • Requires limited use of judgment with well-defined procedures.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft & Company Server).
  • Ability to work well with the team and other departments, and prioritize duties.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and industry standards.

Nice To Haves

  • UT or Mag Particle Level I or II.
  • NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) experience.
  • Ability to assist a machine operator to understand process flow.
  • Ability to lead production shop tours.
  • Ability to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns.
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged time periods plus occasional walking to stooping.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming vendor shipment external services.
  • Provide inspection floor/lab coverage and overflow, particularly for the 2nd shift.
  • Inspect in-process production across all departments.
  • Inspect incoming purchased materials such as Steel, Nuts, Washers, and Bolts.
  • Conduct final inspection and Quality Control checks at shipping.
  • Work from blueprints or specific customer requirements to perform inspections.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports and records.
  • Perform monthly calibration tool inspection and record keeping.
  • Prepare and perform hardness verification.
  • Conduct daily audits of all departments.
  • Work overtime if required and approved.
  • Fill out Quality Alerts with required information when issues are found.
  • Increase knowledge in all manufacturing practices.
  • Perform other duties as needed or required.
