About The Position

Western Partitions, Inc. (WPI) is a leading interior and exterior contracting firm seeking a Quality Inspector. This role is responsible for performing quality assurance and quality control inspections on manufactured products before they are delivered to project sites. The Quality Inspector acts as the final quality verification step, ensuring adherence to company standards, vendor requirements, and customer specifications. This position will also be involved in compiling and reporting quality metrics to support continuous improvement efforts and will collaborate closely with the Quality Manager and manufacturing teams. The role is located in the southern Columbus area.

Requirements

• 3+ years in QA/QC inspection or manufacturing quality roles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in quality reporting tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to be on your feet and mobile for a large portion of the day.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Familiarity with ERP/QMS systems.
• Familiarity with Mechanical and Electrical Systems.
• Certification in quality auditing or inspection (e.g., ASQ CQI).
• Experience in quality control, inspection, and ISO 9001 documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day to day quality control activities in assembly, shipping/receiving, and vendor finished goods.
• Ensure proper execution of in-process and final inspections.
• Serve as a point of contact for issues noted by customers and monitor infeed customer feedback daily.
• Procure materials, coordinate vendor needs with in-house teams, and coordinate shipping.
• Partner with Project Managers if installation is required.
• Escalate issues or trends to the QAQC Program Manager.
• Manage inspections within applicable jurisdictions.
• Establish criteria and perform calibrations on measurement tools.
• Input all inspections into internal and bridged systems.
• Perform inspections in rotation to support operations teams.
• Investigate non-conformances in collaboration with the QAQC team.
• Support implementation of corrective actions to enhance product quality.
• Establish inspection criteria for calibrated tool inspections.
• Assist in generating and maintaining documentation aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
• Define quality standards and ensure document control.
• Support production teams in meeting quality targets.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
• Serve as the last checkpoint for quality before products are released for delivery to site.
