About The Position

This role involves ensuring quality standards are met through various inspection activities. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for verifying documentation, performing inspections using various tools and equipment, recording data, and participating in quality assurance processes. There are two levels described: Level I focuses on basic inspection tasks and documentation, while Level II includes advanced inspection techniques, training, and reporting using specialized equipment and software.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly prints.
  • Proficiency in using handheld gages including calipers, micrometers, and scales.
  • Ability to accurately record inspection activities.
  • Ability to accurately populate quality assurance documentation using industry terms and definitions.
  • Ability to manage time appropriately and respond quickly to inquiries.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures.
  • Ability to maintain an “Ultra C-Lean” working environment.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Experience with ERP systems (specifically Syteline mentioned for RMA/MRR processes).
  • Experience with inspection using laboratory grade equipment (e.g., CMM(s), Scanners, Optical Comparators, Surf analyzers, etc.).
  • Experience entering data and completing First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports (specifically using Net-Inspect mentioned).
  • Experience creating and completing Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Material Rejection Report (MRR) processes.
  • Ability to capture data and images for presentations.
  • Ability to train others on inspection procedures and equipment usage.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
  • Experience assisting Material Review Board (MRB).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all relevant internal and external documentation for inspection purposes is current.
  • Accurately record inspection activities using the Company’s ERP system.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly prints.
  • Perform inspection using handheld gages including calipers, micrometers, and scales.
  • Perform final check to ensure all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and non-conformance issues.
  • Accurately populate quality assurance documentation using industry terms and definitions.
  • Assist in Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Material Rejection Report (MRR) processes using Syteline.
  • Perform PCD Audits, document results and communicate findings.
  • Participate in 3rd Party audits as necessary.
  • Handle customer supplied products with care.
  • Maintain and reinforce ORIZON’s quality standards to meet customer expectations.
  • Manage time appropriately and respond quickly to all inquiries to meet production, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in their implementation.
  • Assist Material Review Board (MRB) by clearly identifying and placing nonconforming products in the MRB cage.
  • Maintain an “Ultra C-Lean” working environment by following proper work procedures, ensuring a clean work area, and confirming accurate tool inventory at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Perform inspection using laboratory grade equipment (e.g., CMM(s), Scanners, Optical Comparators, Surf analyzers, etc.).
  • Enter data and complete First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports using Net-Inspect.
  • Create and complete Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Material Rejection Report (MRR) processes using Syteline.
  • Capture data and images for use in creating a Power Point Presentation to clearly identify any non-conformances.
  • Train Level I Inspectors to perform inspection and troubleshoot by utilizing laboratory grade equipment.
