About The Position

Road & Rail Services is seeking a dependable Entry-Level Quality Inspector to join their vehicle operations team. This role focuses on visually inspecting new vehicles for transportation-related damage, accurately documenting findings, and entering this information into customer reporting systems. While no prior vehicle inspection experience is necessary as training will be provided, a keen eye for detail and accuracy in reporting are essential. This is a visual inspection and reporting role, not an automotive mechanic or repair position.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately enter and maintain information
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Availability to consistently work Wednesday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Willingness to work outdoors throughout your shift
  • Ability to safely access and perform work around railcars

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual inspections of vehicles for transportation-related damage
  • Identify and document scratches, dents, marks, and other applicable damage
  • Review and verify damage that has already been reported
  • Inspect vehicles located both on and off railcars
  • Accurately record inspection results and supporting information
  • Enter vehicle damage reports into manufacturer/OEM reporting websites
  • Submit applicable documentation through the BNSF reporting system
  • Communicate inspection findings and documentation concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Help monitor or control designated areas while vehicles are awaiting repairs
  • Follow established procedures when working around vehicles, railcars, and other equipment
  • Maintain accurate and complete inspection records
  • Follow all Road & Rail Services and customer safety requirements
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned by management
