About The Position

Fralock is an engineered solutions provider of specialty components and subassemblies using advanced materials for high reliability, severe environment, and technically challenging applications. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting materials, components, and finished goods, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • PC literate (MS office 365) ERP/QMS data entry
  • Knowledge in blueprint reading and geometrical tolerances; use of hand-held inspection tools and templates
  • Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a controlled manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical, or equivalent)
  • Good communication skills both oral and written; English language proficiency for technical documentation and communication
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Familiarity with measurement tools and inspection equipment (CMM, Keyence IM systems, calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures
  • 1 year or more experience in a quality inspection role in a manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with CMM inspection and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS 9100 and/or ISO 13485 Standard

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Use measuring tools and equipment (e.g., CMM, Keyence IM systems, calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
  • Identify defects or nonconformities and report findings to production or quality leadership
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Ensure adherence to company quality policies and industry standards
  • Support audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area
  • Work with Production/Receiving Inspection/Purchasing when parts are found out of tolerance
  • Document results of inspections using First Article Report AS9102, customer-specific inspection documents, Fralock Dimensional Reports, copies of CMM reports or written results in the job order
  • Compare actual measurements to drawing tolerances using calibrated tools and inspection systems
  • Identify, tag, and document nonconforming items, coordinate with Quality and Engineering for resolution
  • Maintain inspection tools in good condition, including verifying calibration stickers
  • Capture and upload inspection photos, ballooned drawings, and other evidence into QMS/ERP
  • Other duties as assigned, including working in other departments
