Quality Inspector
About The Position
The Quality Inspector supports manufacturing operations by performing First Article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This Quality Inspector role plays a critical part in maintaining production quality by identifying nonconforming materials, documenting inspection results, and collaborating with production and engineering teams. The ideal Quality Inspector is detail-oriented, technically skilled in blueprint interpretation and inspection tools, and comfortable making quality decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Working knowledge of GD&T principles
- Proficiency using standard measuring equipment (SME) and layout inspection techniques
- Experience working within an AS9100 quality management system
- Familiarity with gage R&R studies and calibration systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Nice To Haves
- CMM operation or programming experience preferred
- Welding Inspector Specialist or Assistant experience or related training is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform First Article, in-process, and final inspections
- Verify product conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Accurately complete inspection documentation according to company procedures
- Make accept/reject decisions based on inspection criteria and specifications
- Identify, document, and control nonconforming products
- Record inspection activity and job time within the ERP system (e.g., JobBoss)
- Prioritize inspection workload to support production schedules and deadlines
- Communicate inspection results with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Assist with corrective actions and nonconformance resolution
- Support overall quality objectives and continuous improvement initiatives
