About The Position

Thruway Fasteners, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to execute processes in compliance with their ISO-9001 and AS-9120 certified Quality Management System (QMS). This role is responsible for conducting inspections to ensure products meet customer drawings, specifications, and industry standards. The individual will also focus on continuous improvement of quality performance and customer satisfaction, fostering a company culture where quality and safety are everyone's responsibility. This position is cross-functional and the individual has responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Safely operate forklift and pallet jacks.

Nice To Haves

  • Documented Experience (2+ years) in a direct quality role preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or warehousing environments preferred.
  • Experience with Electro/Mechanical hardware/fasteners preferred.
  • OSHA10 preferred.
  • Process auditing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct incoming inspection on items requiring quality inspection.
  • Conduct outgoing inspection on items or orders requiring quality inspection.
  • Prepare and submit accurate quality documentation (e.g., MTRs, CoCs, FAIs, ISIRs, PPAPs).
  • Act as point person between customer and Thruway’s supply chain on all branch quality issues.
  • Escalate major quality issues to the General Manager and Corporate Quality Manager for awareness and support.
  • Issue, respond, complete and close internal and external CAPA’s as required, without un-due delay.
  • Maintain calibrated and reference only equipment. Coordinate the calibration and verification of the equipment and maintain accuracy of Thruway's Calibration Log.
  • Assist the CQM and GM in training and ensure branch personnel follow the Thruway quality manual, procedures, work instructions, and safety processes. Escalate any non-compliance to the CQM and GM.
  • Notify the CQM of any ideas for improvement with suggestions and rationale.
  • Assist the CQM in preparing for and undergoing internal, customer, and certification body audits.
  • Perform and document monthly 6S Audits. Distribute audit report to the CQM and GM.
  • Identify potential or existing safety hazards and other opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate the completion of action items required to rectify any 6S audit findings.
  • Assist with physical inventory and warehouse functions as needed.
