About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for the proper set-up and operation of the assigned machine in accordance with established procedures; responsible for applying established standards in support of the Quality team to facilitate continuous improvement and ensure the highest quality product reaches the customer.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent is required
  • Exceptional Communication: Including active speaking / listening, reading / writing skills in accordance with standard business practices and decorum; excellent relationship building skills
  • Critical Thinking / Troubleshooting: Using logic and reasoning to identify problems as well as the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusion, or approaches to problems.
  • Details: Must have attention to details for all areas of work, especially in record-keeping and organization of projects; efficient in daily tasks
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, basic understanding of MS Office, and the ability to learn other computer programs
  • Ethical Behavior: Must maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of company affairs; must conduct business with integrity and comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain.
  • Ability of using various scientific rules and methods to solve problems
  • Basic knowledge of safety system analysis
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with Supervisors and Associates
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Some college is preferred
  • 6 months of experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • 6 months of experience working with hazardous substances strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Read orders and schedules to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures for machine setup and inspection.
  • Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions and to ensure that outputs conform to specifications.
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials or ingredients.
  • Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Separate defective products; report them to the immediate supervisor in case of product or process nonconformity.
  • Use a variety of tools for inspection including calipers, gauges, and other testing/measurement instruments.
  • Will perform additional duties as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management, as required
