About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that materials and products meet specified standards through various inspection methods. This role requires the use and maintenance of measuring instruments, the ability to read and interpret technical documents, and effective communication with production teams and supervisors. The position also involves documenting inspection results, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe work environment. Access to technical data governed by ITAR regulations requires candidates to be U.S. persons.

Requirements

  • Use and maintain all common measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gages and bore gages.
  • Read and understand prints, routers, and quality plans and to communicate the information contained.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 5 years as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment or similar Quality position
  • Written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
