About The Position

QUALITY INSPECTOR (STARSHIP) Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometer Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements through eCerts or physical copies Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace parts Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance with company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Inspect flight hardware at the supplier according to engineering drawings, purchase order(s), industry standards, and SpaceX specifications Use electronic MRP system to route parts and components to proper departments

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a forklift or other material handling motorized vehicles and equipment
  • Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)
  • Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
  • Experience detecting design and drawing flaws
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with GD&T and use of metrology tools and gauges
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

Responsibilities
