About The Position

South Bay Solutions is a high-precision machine shop, making parts for semiconductor, medical devices, and advanced tech hardware. Our tolerances are measured in microns, our equipment is top-of-the-line, and our team is passionate about quality craftsmanship.

The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining South Bay Solutions' quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. This role includes analyzing inspection results, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with customer and company specifications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Up to 2 years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M standards.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts, geometry, trigonometry, and datum structures.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and data entry.

Nice To Haves

• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
• Experience using: Keyence Video CMM, Optical Comparator with Quadra-Chek 200, Manual Mitutoyo CMM, Zeiss CMM programs
• Ability to set up and troubleshoot CMM programs
• Ability to validate parts using multiple inspection methods
• Ability to analyze and trend inspection data and KPIs
• Ability to communicate inspection methods and results effectively

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Perform inspections on surface plates and other inspection equipment.
• Measure and test products using a variety of inspection tools and equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections to customer and company requirements.
• Maintain product identification and traceability records.
• Document inspection data, create reports, and issue NCRs within the ERP system.
• Accept or reject products based on inspection results.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and KPI tracking.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
