About The Position

This role involves operating CMMs, gear analyzers, and other measurement equipment to conduct in-process inspections and First-off approvals. Ensure all products meet strict company and customer specifications while maintaining accurate inspection records. Success in this fast-paced environment requires strong collaboration with internal departments to uphold and enhance quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years industry related work experience. Capable of meeting all Level 1 requirements.
  • Ability to run CMM and special purpose gauges (i.e. Gear Analyzer, Vision System Scanner etc.) equipment with basic understanding of programming.
  • Knowledge and ability to use measuring equipment, such as micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges.
  • Intermediate knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprint drawings and GD&T symbols.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgical principles.
  • Ability to continuously learn new skills and developments in the field.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both individual and team settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn new software applications.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Quality Assurance – manufacturing and Management certificate or equivalent experience
  • Blueprint Reading Training (Internal/External)
  • GDT Training (Internal/External)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of parts using appropriate gauging or measuring equipment to ensure product aligns with customer standards through various process, including: First off inspections: Inspect part specifications and authorize full production.
  • Receiving Inspections: Assess incoming material based on product specifications to ensure required standards.
  • In process Inspections: Monitor and inspect parts during production process to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.
  • Product Audits: Conduct full dimensional layout of part by measuring all part features to ensure compliance with drawing specifications.
  • Final release inspections: Evaluate parts and authorize shipment of parts to the customer.
  • Capability Studies: Use data from samples to predict the ability of process to produce parts conforming to customer specifications.
  • Operate CMM and special purpose gauges (i.e. Gear Analyzer, Vision System Scanner etc.) with basic understanding of programming.
  • Apply IATF standards for handling non-conforming material, including identification and inspection procedures.
  • Use appropriate documentation related to quality inspections.
  • Communicate and report any product deviations found to relevant individuals.
  • Adhere to all Health and safety, environmental legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in Metallurgy Lab, such as: cutting parts, mounting and conducting basic inspections.
