About The Position

The Quality Inspector III performs in-process and final inspections of electronic assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components to ensure conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and industry standards. This role supports production, engineering, and quality teams by identifying defects, documenting nonconformances, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years of experience
  • Understanding of inspection tools
  • Experience inspecting or assembling electronic assemblies and electromechanical products.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of experience in electronic assembly inspection or related manufacturing quality role.
  • Strong knowledge of IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑620, and IPC‑J‑STD‑001 (certification preferred).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with common electronic components and soldering characteristics.
  • Proficiency with basic electrical test equipment and mechanical measurement tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle workmanship defects.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual and mechanical inspections of electronic assemblies, circuit card assemblies, wiring harnesses, and chassis‑level builds.
  • Verify compliance with IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑J‑STD‑001, and company-specific workmanship standards.
  • Inspect soldering, component placement, polarity, lead dress, labeling, conformal coating, and mechanical hardware installation.
  • Review work against engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Use inspection tools including microscopes, calipers, torque tools, multimeters, and continuity testers.
  • Document nonconformances using the company’s quality management system and support root‑cause and corrective‑action activities.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to resolve issues and ensure timely workflow.
  • Conduct in‑process audits to validate adherence to manufacturing processes and ESD controls.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records in accordance with AS9100 and internal quality procedures.
  • Support incoming inspection of electronic components and materials as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction and process reliability.
