About The Position

The Quality Inspector III will be responsible for reading and interpreting complex project drawings and welding symbols, using various inspection tools, and completing complex First Article Inspections (FAIs). This role requires a thorough knowledge of customer requirements and GD&T, the ability to answer questions from the production floor, and perform a variety of parts and product inspections to meet company and customer requirements. The inspector will document inspection results, gather data, create reports for customers, communicate quality discrepancies, and validate material and process certifications. They will also follow the Nonconforming Material process, use calibrated measuring equipment, and adhere to all safety procedures. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strong communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • GED/High School Diploma/Technical Degree
  • 1-3 Years manufacturing experience
  • 5+ Years inspection experience
  • 1+ Years in a metal fabrication environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Thorough knowledge of customers’ requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of GD&T
  • Ability to answer questions from production floor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Desire to acquire ASQ certification

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret complex project drawings and welding symbols
  • Use inspection tools such as tape measure, caliper, pin gauges, protractor, thread gauges, radius gauges, height gauges, bore mics, and ROMER arm
  • Complete complex First Article Inspections (FAIs)
  • Inspect incoming sub-out parts
  • Document results of inspections
  • Gather data and create reports for customers
  • Communicate quality discrepancies to shop supervisors
  • Validate material and process certifications, and inspection documentation
  • Follow the Nonconforming Material process
  • Use calibrated measuring equipment where applicable
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Train others
