The Quality Inspector III role is responsible for the day to day recording and validation of material between customers, vendors and operations. This role involves inspecting materials and products for conformance to specifications, including finished product and in-process fabricated or mechanical parts, equipment, and assemblies of a complex nature. The inspector will carry out policies and procedures for testing and evaluating product, operate mechanical and electrical test equipment, and work according to Standard Operating Procedures (work instructions). Responsibilities also include assisting in the recording and controlling/segregating of non-conforming parts/product, evaluating parts or assemblies against standards, blueprints, engineering, and specifications. This position leads and directs the work of others, assists in training less experienced inspectors, and requires working safely at all times. The role also involves operating a CMM, and other duties as assigned by supervision or management. The ideal candidate will assess their own strengths and weaknesses, pursue training and development, continuously build knowledge and skills, and share expertise. They will demonstrate willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, support and explain decisions, include appropriate people in the decision-making process, and make timely decisions. Accuracy and thoroughness are key, with a focus on improving quality, applying feedback, and monitoring own work. Productivity standards must be met, work completed in a timely manner, and efforts made to increase productivity. Adaptability to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, and adjusting methods to fit the situation are also important.
