About The Position

DPP is seeking a Quality Inspector II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. This position will join the Deployables Operating Unit. The Quality Inspector II will perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, load tests. etc.) on mechanical, electrical or structural components or systems to ensure conformance with the quality requirements for spacecraft components and associated systems.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role
Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools
Knowledge of GD&T with the ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteria
US Citizenship required
Aerospace experience
Familiar with Microsoft applications
Knowledge of dimensional inspection and receiving inspection

Strong Computer skills
Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results
Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
Cable harness assembly experience
CMM programming experience
Familiar with optical comparators
Solder certified

Responsibilities

Use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.
Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional, etc.) on spacecraft components.
Use various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machine.
Inspect and perform tests on mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies.
Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
