About The Position

The Quality Inspector – S2 is responsible for the daily execution of inspection activities in Receiving, Wire & Cable, and Edwards Testing. This role ensures that all incoming materials and assemblies meet i2Systems and customer requirements, while supporting systemic improvements identified by the Quality Specialist – S2. The Inspector II will manage daily inspection priorities, maintain records, and escalate issues as required to ensure product compliance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in quality inspection preferred.
  • 2–4 years of inspection experience in receiving, electrical assemblies, or related manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, continuity testers).
  • Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and industry workmanship standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections on incoming materials, mechanical/electrical commodities, and cable/harness assemblies.
  • Verify supplier documentation including certificates of conformance (CofC), material certifications, and traceability.
  • Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional checks using appropriate measurement tools.
  • Tag, segregate, and document nonconforming material in accordance with NCMR/DMR procedures.
  • Inspect wire and cable assemblies for workmanship, labeling, continuity, and compliance with drawings/specifications.
  • Utilize test equipment as needed to verify electrical continuity and performance.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and communicate issues to the Quality Specialist – S2 for escalation.
  • Perform functional and customer-specific testing on Edwards products per documented procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain test equipment and fixtures; ensure calibration and readiness before use.
  • Record results, identify failures, and escalate systemic concerns for RCCA.
  • Accurately complete inspection records in ERP/QMS, including test data, NCMR/DMR, and supplier-related feedback.
  • Support preparation of customer-required documentation packages (e.g., test results, inspection logs).
  • Provide daily inspection status updates to the Quality Specialist – S2.
  • Partner with the Quality Specialist – S2 to support corrective actions, training, and systemic improvements.
  • Participate in RCCA investigations by providing inspection data and observations.
  • Flex to support other inspection areas or light assembly/kitting tasks as needed when demand shifts.
