About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections and appropriate tests on finish goods at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards and engineering drawings are followed.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume production environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and ERP Systems.
  • Visual System preferred.
  • Basic Dimensional inspection equipment knowledge (Caliper, Micrometer, Pin Gauges, Gauge Blocks, , Go-No Go Gauge, Depth Gauge etc.) and mechano-optical(Keyence).
  • Excellent Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ISO9001 standard
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage changing priorities.
  • 1-3 years of experience in quality control in manufacturing precision components.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training or education in quality control or metrology, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs first piece, in process, and final inspections.
  • Has the ability to stop production if parts do not pass.
  • Reads and understands print drawings and specifications for correct test requirements, procedures, and sampling plans.
  • Performs First Piece Inspection (FAI) to include full dimensional layout as well as documentation verification of materials and special processes in accordance with engineering drawing.
  • Provide disposition and recording scraps for the inspected product and ensure adequate compliance with original job specifications.
  • Verifies calibration on all equipment within the lab and from the factory floor prior to use.
  • Verifies and ensures that all jobs and materials have accurate information on the Manufacturing Order Route Packet prior to release to the production floor.
  • Receives and documents sample parts into the Quality Lab tracking system.
  • Reviews lab test results to ensure all operations have been properly performed and recorded.
  • Issues and tracks production gages to the manufacturing floor.
  • Sort parts in the lab if required.
  • Communicates with vendors via email or phone for required documentation.
  • Publish PPAP’s and verify PPAP’s form Suppliers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
