Contribute to the communities where we reside. We have an exciting position open: Quality Inspector II, this position will report to the Quality Manager. This position will be based in Eatontown and is responsible for performing incoming and final inspection on various manufactured components assemblies and finished products in accordance with established Quality Inspection Plans. Document results and determine final disposition of materials and products, as well as some direct contact with our suppliers.

Requirements

  • High School graduate
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality
  • 2 years minimum QC experience in a “high volume” Manufacturing environment
  • Have some experience with gauges and microscopes.
  • Have some experience reading drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information relating to quality and production issues.
  • Must possess basic math and PC skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while managing multiple assignments with strict deadlines.
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must possess working knowledge of ISO9001.
  • You must be able to independently identify process improvements and best practices.
  • You must be able to actively participate in problem solving and discussions with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to understand and utilize SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspection on received components following Quality Inspection Plan and determine acceptance. This may include but is not limited to performing incoming inspections on components manufactured by a supplier, components coming from the molding department going to assembly and may involve collecting data to accept or reject those components.
  • Perform all final inspection activities as required following Quality Inspection Plans and determine acceptance. This includes creating and sending Certificates of Analysis (COA) to customers in a timely manner.
  • Support the Supplier Quality efforts pertaining to supplier performance, corrective actions and “return to vendor” activities.
  • Communicate and coordinate all quality-related issues to key stakeholders, which may include (but is not limited to QA and Mfg. Supervision and related personnel on supplied components).
  • Coordinate proper containment activities for potentially non-conforming material.
  • Quarantine and clearly mark all defective products and issue Quality Notifications as instructed.
  • Place potentially non-conforming material on Quality Hold and remove material from Quality Hold.
  • Execute actions within the Document Control process (including but not limited to document creation, review and facilitate approval of, training and update controlled copy locations).
  • Work unsupervised and independently as assigned.
  • Perform additional testing and other duties as requested, including accurate documentation.
  • Support internal metrology activities.
  • Perform and coordinate Inspection activities related to returns, rework and sorting.
  • Train and onboard Quality Inspectors Level I.
  • Independently identify process improvements and best practices.
  • Be a subject matter expert (SME) on all our Product lines.
  • Work as a backup for the Quality Inspector in Molding or Assembly as needed.
  • Work as a backup for a Quality Lab technician when needed.
  • Actively participate in problem solving and discussions with cross-functional teams.
  • Take on Quality minded / continuous improvement projects when required perform additional testing and other duties as requested, including accurate documentation.
