About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking a Quality Inspector II to inspect purchased parts, materials, components, equipment, and manufactured parts. The role uses drawings, specifications, sketches, inspection procedures, and precision measuring tools to verify quality and accuracy. The inspector collaborates with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, documents results and problems in standard reports, and conducts basic inspections and audits. The position applies analytical skills and intermediate problem-solving to identify root causes and solutions, and resolves typical work-area problems using established procedures or scientific methods. It has no supervisory responsibilities and impacts the quality of the employee’s own work.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and specification requirements.
• Analytical skills and application of scientific methods to perform a variety of activities.
• Ability to recognize and solve typical problems in the work area using established operating procedures or scientific methods.
• Communication skills to exchange information.

Responsibilities

• Inspect purchased parts, materials, components, and equipment.
• Confirm the accuracy of manufactured parts and follow applicable inspection methods.
• Assist in determining inspection methods, sequences, and procedures; perform basic inspections and audits.
• Use drawings, specifications, and sketches, adapting inspection measuring devices and procedures when necessary.
• Read and interpret basic technical drawings and specification requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
• Populate standard reports with test results and quality problems.
• Conduct intermediate problem-solving to identify root causes and solutions.
• Use basic precision measuring inspection tooling, gauges, and equipment.
