About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Quality Inspector II to perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts, subassemblies, and major assemblies to support the manufacture of critical aircraft technology for the world's leading aviation customers. In this role you will use standard measuring instruments as well as special measuring instruments and gages to complete inspection records and rejection reports.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools.
  • Basic computer skills including the ability to use operating software.
  • Ability to pass color/vision test
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages
  • Experience performing detailed product inspections using blueprints and specifications
  • The ability to utilize computer systems including input of data and retrieval of information for inspections and configuration purposes
  • The ability to review documents and to identify and resolve any errors or missing information

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience using SAP.
  • Prefer experience utilizing micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed product inspections on in-process and finished goods, including but not limited to First Article Inspections.
  • Document characteristics of products accurately and with technical detail.
  • Initiate quality notifications for any non-conforming products.
  • Apply quality assurance procedures and requirements to the inspection of hardware and to document reviews.
  • Identify any potential quality issues early and help to prevent their occurrence.
  • Communicate effectively to other Collins Aerospace personnel any quality issues needing resolution.
  • Monitor the use of calibrated measuring instruments.
