Quality Inspector I - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Volt is immediately hiring for a 2nd Shift Quality Inspector in Sun Valley, CA. This is a full-time opportunity that requires overtime. The shift hours are from 1pm to 9:30pm. The role involves collaborating with leads or supervisors during final inspections, selecting jobs for inspection based on priority and production schedule, and matching parts with their corresponding shop traveler documentation. Inspectors will carefully remove finished products from hooks and racks, ensuring no damage and preventing surface scratches or "metal-to-metal" contact. A key responsibility is verifying that plated items meet customer specifications and quality standards, and reporting any defective parts to the lead or supervisor. The role may require the use of magnification tools like microscopes for detailed inspection. Accurate completion of paperwork and digital entries, including traveler forms, Webapp scans, and rejection logs, is essential. Support for other departments such as masking, receiving, and wiring may also be required.
Requirements
- Basic ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Comfortable with computer-based tasks, including data entry
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Able to read and write in English at a functional level
- Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Team player who communicates well across departments
