About The Position

Hiller Measurements is a growing, dynamic, high-tech organization in Dripping Springs/Austin area. Inspired measurement design is what we're about. We've tested gaming systems, simulated atmospheric effects of satellite communications, designed unique parts of our nation's radar systems, and designed test systems for the most exciting electronic vehicles on the road. From our headquarters in the Hill Country southwest of Austin, Texas, we operate on a lean and flexible basis allowing us to adapt to our client's design needs, budget, and schedule. The Quality Inspector - Electrical & Mechanical performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of cable and harness assemblies, enclosure assemblies, and related components. The position verifies conformance to IPC standards, Hiller Measurements criteria, engineering drawings, interconnect diagrams (ICDs), bills of material (BOMs), and other controlled documentation while supporting accurate inspection records and timely communication of nonconformances.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify workmanship or dimensional discrepancies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Working knowledge of inspection methods, measurement techniques, and quality-control practices.
  • Ability to use precision measurement and inspection tools accurately and consistently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; experience with ERP or electronic quality systems preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electronics, manufacturing, quality, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Proficiency with technical drawings and engineering document interpretation.
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident (due to company contracts falling under the ITAR).

Nice To Haves

  • Certification to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or IPC-A-610 preferred.
  • Familiarity with nonconformance reporting (NCR) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of cable and harness assemblies, enclosure assemblies, and related components in accordance with applicable IPC standards and Hiller Measurements criteria.
  • Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, borescopes, and other applicable measurement equipment.
  • Verify conformance to engineering drawings, interconnect diagrams (ICDs), bills of material (BOMs), specifications, and work instructions.
  • Document inspection results, identify nonconformances, provide or support disposition, and initiate notifications to relevant parties.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections as assigned to support production and project requirements.
  • Maintain inspection tools through routine verification, proper handling, and troubleshooting to support measurement accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to clarify requirements and resolve inspection-related issues.
  • Follow Company quality procedures, safety requirements, ESD controls, and applicable workmanship standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
