About The Position

The Quality Inspector Coatings role involves using predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to visually inspect in-process and completed products. This includes inspecting electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds. The inspector will utilize various measuring devices, and will be responsible for accepting, rejecting, or reworking defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Work will be performed from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, or inspection checklists. The role may also involve monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures, and performing line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience; OR Apprentice graduate/ Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 1 year of related experience.
  • NBPI or NACE 1 qualification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated basic computer skills.
  • Ability to inspect confined spaces, inspect at extreme heights, stooping, crawling, bending, climbing ladders and stairs when required.
  • Able to read a blueprint.
