About The Position

The Quality Inspector 1 will be responsible for following and implementing standard quality procedures. This role involves performing standardized dimensional, mechanical, and visual inspections of subassemblies, finished, and semi-finished components and parts to ensure they meet size, material, finish, appearance, and other requirements. The inspector will devise routine dimensional gauging setups, prepare reports and rejection slips, and record data according to Crosby specifications. They will also plan and execute inspection sequences using various measuring apparatus and perform first piece part, bench, and periodic inspections, referring questionable cases to the Inspection Supervisor and reporting reasons for defects or malfunctions.

Requirements

High School diploma, or equivalent
Minimum of 1-2 years working in a manufacturing/quality environment
Familiarity with tools needed for inspection

Nice To Haves

2 plus years working in a quality control position
Previous experience with Micrometers, verniers, or other inspection tools
MS Office skills

Responsibilities

Follow and implement standard quality procedures.
Perform the more standardized dimensional, mechanical and visual inspection of subassemblies, finished and semi-finished components and parts for size, correct material, finish, appearance, and other pertinent requirements.
Devise routine dimensional gauging set-ups, make out report and rejections slips and record data to Crosby specifications.
Plan and perform a sequence of operations for inspection using all types of measuring apparatus such as micrometers, verniers, height and depth comparator and air gages, etc.
Perform first piece part, bench and periodic inspection as necessary within the limits of standard practice.
Refer all questionable cases to Inspection Supervisor.
Report reasons for defects or malfunctions.
