About The Position

Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. We have an opportunity for a Quality Inspection Team Working Leader to be based in Columbus, GA. The QA team lead is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the QA team, including planning, and assigning work to the QA team members, resolving issues experienced by the QA team and escalating issues where necessary. They will assist in creating training documentation, monitoring progress of training and recommending new training. They will be responsible for following existing procedures, updating management, and escalating any issues to the relevant supervisor or management.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • 2 years experience in quality inspection or machining preferably

Responsibilities

  • Allocate available resources appropriately to ensure completion of the assigned work.
  • Provide support to the QA team and escalate any relevant issues to the management team.
  • Update existing training process documentation and create new documentation where necessary.
  • Work with the management team on improvements to the QA framework.
  • Assist with the implementation of new workflow processes that impact the QA team.
  • Communication with internal teams in relation to priorities
  • Keep training matrix/Covalent updated as new training is completed
  • Attending bi-yearly reviews with the Supervisor to be used as supporting evidence for individual reviews carried out by the Company.
  • Have a good working knowledge of inspection requirements in Automated Machining: CMMs
  • Provide training oversight for Automated Machining; CMMs
  • Excellent communication skills required to communicate objectives/priorities to team members
  • A logical and methodical approach to managing workflow
  • The ability to learn new processes and tools quickly and effectively
  • A customer focused attitude and a commitment to delivering on monthly goals
  • Ensure nonconforming material is segregated and is properly documented and controlled
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in (MS Office, Solumina).
