About The Position

The Quality Inspection Supervisor is a front-line quality leader and execution partner responsible for directing daily inspection operations for space-flight electric propulsion systems. This role ensures product and process conformance is verified accurately, efficiently, and at rate, so hardware moves through the floor while maintaining strict quality, documentation, and configuration discipline. In a fast-paced, high-rate space production environment, the Quality Inspection Supervisor leads and develops the Quality Floor Inspection team, owns daily inspection coverage and priorities, removes barriers to flow, and partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Operations to support on-time delivery of conforming flight hardware in accordance with AS9100.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or quality, with hands-on exposure to inspection operations
  • Experience supervising small to medium sized teams OR lead experience guiding team members to operational success in a manufacturing or quality environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes and documentation, including review and interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection criteria
  • Experience using common inspection tools and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, and torque tools
  • Understanding of nonconformance identification, containment, escalation, and corrective action practices
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to switch-task, be thorough and detail oriented
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs (overtime required at times)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC, or NASA workmanship standards
  • Experience with First Article Inspection, receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, or source inspection
  • Certification or training in inspection methods, metrology, GD&T, or IPC workmanship

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Quality Floor Inspection team, ensuring in-process, receiving, final, and floor-level inspections are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule
  • Own daily inspection coverage and priorities across work areas; work with the Quality Manager to balance workload, resolve conflicts, and align inspection resources to production demand
  • Ensure all inspections are performed in accordance with drawings, specifications, work instructions, inspection criteria, and AS9100 and company quality standards
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Operations to resolve quality issues and maintain flow
  • Oversee identification, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming product; support containment, investigation, reinspection, and closure of quality issues
  • Train, lead, coach, and develop inspectors through clear expectations and performance feedback
  • Monitor inspection activities and KPIs; conduct daily T1 meetings to communicate priorities and reinforce accountability
  • Ensure adherence to all EHS policies and procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices
