About The Position

Under direct supervision, inspects products and evaluates data to ensure quality. Performs In-process and final quality inspection on units built in Stone Mountain and records the defect data. Under the guidance of Quality Engineer periodically performs process & product audit and record those findings in Quality database.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Ability to read assembly/part drawings
• Ability to use MS office software (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Must have the ability to work on multiple projects within the same day
• Must have the ability to learn and new software
• Must have the ability to follow directions and work independently

Responsibilities

• Inspects product assembly at various stages of the production process and ensure compliance with drawing, production order, inspection form and Critical to Quality documents
• Measures items for dimensional accuracy, and performs functional operation (if any), according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications
• Records observations in defect database and may make recommendations for improving processes
• Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information
• Performs a product and process audit on a routine schedule with the prescribed checklist and document the findings
• Ensures Critical to Quality documents are fully followed by performing routine audit
• Train the operators on Critical to Quality characteristics and processes
• Inspects purchased parts, materials and returned unit for conformance to specifications. Examines items for defects in materials and damages occurred during transit
• Purge all defective materials from the manufacturing facilities and work with the returns clerk to return material back to the vendor if it is a vendor issue
• Must work with cross functional team during continuous improvement initiatives or projects
• Must be able to effectively communicate the issue to the responsible teams through email/phone and presentation with pictures and attachments etc.,
• May work in any of the following areas of quality control: incoming material, process control, and product evaluation etc.,
• Maintain cleanliness and Follow 5S in the work area
• Must be able to lift to 50lbs
