About The Position

Mueller Aluminum Impacts Company and MicroGauge Inc., renowned leaders in precision engineering, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. Specializing in the production and machining of precision-engineered, close-tolerance metal impact extrusions, we take pride in delivering cutting-edge solutions across diverse markets. The two companies go to market as one, operating out of two plants. However, both companies uniformly stand at the forefront of innovation, consistently exceeding industry standards. As a Gauge Tech, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and calibrating measuring instruments and gauges to ensure they meet accuracy standards, performing maintenance and repairs as needed.

Requirements

• Proficient in using precision measuring equipment.
• A meticulous eye for detail is crucial to ensure accuracy in measurements.
• Ability to use computer calibration software and maintain digital records.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
• Effectively communicate with production staff and other departments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential for resolving technical challenges.
• Previously worked in Automotive and Aerospace Inspection Environment.
• Previous Quality Gauge Technician experience required.
• Verifiable long-term work history.
• Good work ethic including being on time and at work as scheduled.
• Reliable Transportation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Operators required to wear steel-toed boots.

Nice To Haves

• An Associate's degree in metrology or quality control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, test, and repair precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
• Maintain detailed calibration records, track gauge inventory, and generate calibration certificates for internal and external use.
• Monitor gauge compliance with company and industry standards (e.g., ISO, API), support product and process audits, and troubleshoot quality-related issues on the production floor.
• Manage the flow of gauges, send them to external vendors for calibration when needed, and maintain a log of internal and external gauge tracking.
• Identify and address issues with measurement accuracy and process efficiency.
• Clean and Organize Inspection Gaging and Check Fixtures.
• Implement Inspection Work Cell Improvements.
• Follow Supervisor & Quality Manager Directions.
