About The Position

A rapidly expanding prepared foods manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality & Food Safety Manager to oversee quality programs, regulatory compliance, and food safety initiatives within a high-volume production facility. This leadership role is ideal for a quality professional who is passionate about maintaining the highest standards in food safety, improving operational processes, and developing a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility. Reporting to the Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs, the Quality & Food Safety Manager will oversee the execution and continuous improvement of facility-wide quality systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products, processes, and documentation meet regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and internal standards. The successful candidate will partner closely with production, warehouse, maintenance, and leadership teams to identify opportunities, resolve challenges, and strengthen overall operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality, Microbiology, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with USDA-regulated food manufacturing environments
  • At least 2 years of experience with SQF programs required
  • Experience managing quality systems within a food production facility
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance practices, and compliance standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage implementation and ongoing improvement of food safety and quality programs
  • Ensure facility compliance with USDA, FDA, SQF, GMP, and customer-specific requirements
  • Maintain alignment with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and certification activities
  • Promote adherence to food safety policies throughout the organization
  • Oversee site-level Quality Management Systems (QMS) and related documentation
  • Monitor quality performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities
  • Investigate quality concerns and support effective corrective action plans
  • Manage CAPA processes, traceability programs, and validation activities
  • Assist with complaint investigations and resolution strategies
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to quality team members
  • Help build a strong quality-focused culture across all departments
  • Train employees on food safety expectations and quality procedures
  • Encourage accountability and continuous learning within the team
  • Collaborate with operations teams to improve processes and product quality
  • Work with production, warehouse, and maintenance departments to resolve issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Communicate quality trends, risks, and recommendations to leadership
