Quality Food Safety Intern
About The Position
Bimbo Bakeries USA’s Summer Internship Program gives students experience working on fast-paced, real-world projects intended to develop strategic project management, analytical problem-solving, and managerial leadership skills. Interns receive guidance from designated mentors, work collaboratively on projects, gain exposure to different business functions, and have opportunities to connect with organizational leaders for learning and development. In this role, the intern will analyze data and study processes to identify cost savings, waste reduction, and maintenance effectiveness opportunities. The intern will also contribute to maintenance-system improvements, facility drawing updates, spare-parts initiatives, predictive maintenance, and project planning and execution. A flexible schedule is available, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Able to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Able to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and thrive in a team environment.
- Maintain the confidentiality of personal or company information encountered.
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Previous co-op or internship experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data to identify cost-saving and waste-reduction opportunities through effective use of corrective maintenance systems.
- Conduct process studies to identify opportunities to improve maintenance line effectiveness.
- Collect, analyze, and respond to data to use maintenance systems to implement improved controls.
- Assist with the design and execution of systems and floor projects, including down-day planning.
- Update facility drawings to include main plant steam, air, HVAC, and water lines.
- Develop spare-parts initiatives, including critical spare parts and parts-process management.
- Assist with developing and implementing the predictive maintenance program.
