About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join their Operations - Quality Control team. This role is responsible for inspecting and maintaining proper documentation and reporting of incoming electronic and mechanical parts. The technician will collaborate with Engineers and Suppliers to suggest changes, improvements, and communicate customer requirements. This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in electronics assembly, inspection, or repair; OR an Associate’s degree in Electronics, with 1-2 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or a related field.
  • Experience with utilizing inspection tools (i.e., multi-meters, calipers, micrometers, microscopes).
  • Ability to read basic schematics, specifically those related to PCBs and PWAs.
  • Proficient with PC and familiar with MS Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills, highly attentive to details, and capacity to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • Successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment.
  • Soldering experience.
  • IPC Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform acceptance testing on first article PCBs, assemblies, and components in a Linux-based environment.
  • Prepare assemblies according to established acceptance testing procedures.
  • Support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading of test stations.
  • Perform rigorous stress testing on fully built assemblies to validate components.
  • Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
  • Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
  • Read and interpret part documentation including blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Prepare in-process inspection report ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations leadership to develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Quality Control documentation.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to identify, investigate, and document any inconsistent or abnormal test results.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
