About The Position

Spring Hill Assembly is entering an important period of product complexity, automation growth, and multiple upcoming launches. We are seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for driving quality engineering execution across traditional and EV powertrain products, as well as luxury Cadillac-branded vehicles. This role is ideal for an engineering leader who is energized by technical problem solving, launch readiness, variation reduction, and cross-functional collaboration. The selected leader will have the opportunity to influence measurable quality improvements, strengthen manufacturing execution, and help elevate Cadillac product execution to align with Tier 1 luxury customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, preferably automotive or related field.
  • Knowledge and practical application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles and tools.
  • Strong expertise in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plan development.
  • Demonstrated ability in Technical Problem Solving, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Variation Reduction techniques and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment, interfacing and supporting all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred. (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role with demonstrated ability in People Management.
  • Proficient in utilizing Problem Resolution and Tracking Systems (JIRA PRTS) for effective issue management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of quality engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality output and professional development.
  • Oversee the implementation and execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives for new product launches and engineering changes, ensuring robust quality plans are in place from design to production.
  • Drive the application of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify potential failure modes in manufacturing processes, develop mitigation strategies, and reduce risk.
  • Manage the Problem Resolution and Tracking System (PRTS) to effectively document, analyze, and resolve quality issues, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership in Technical Problem Solving methodologies to identify root causes of quality defects, implement robust solutions, and prevent recurrence.
  • Champion Variation Reduction initiatives across all manufacturing processes, utilizing statistical analysis and lean principles to optimize performance and achieve consistent product quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to integrate quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor and improve key internal and external quality performance indicators, analyze data, and report on quality trends and progress to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
