About The Position

Our factory manufactures circuit card assemblies, cables, sub‑assemblies, and integrated systems. What you will be doing as a Quality Engineering Aide Sr, you will play a key role in driving quality and inspection process improvements and optimizing our manufacturing operations. You will work in close collaboration with quality engineering and the operations team to work on a wide range of projects, from process auditing, quality inspection methods implementation and floor support to inspection team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues, drive defect avoidance, process inspection instruction changes and provide technical support and guidance to quality staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing quality or related experience.
  • Direct technician experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, IPC-610/620 acceptability standards and quality control methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including schematics and wire run lists.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or a related field
  • Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as Creo or SolidWorks
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs, as well as stand for long periods of time, in order to access and troubleshoot equipment on the production floor
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and stretch in order to perform equipment maintenance and repairs

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance product quality.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements and utilizing tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive process documentation, including inspection instructions and standard inspection procedures.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure seamless implementation of process changes.
  • Fielding technical questions related to IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards.
  • Conducting experiments and trials to validate process improvements and ensure compatibility with existing equipment and systems.
