About The Position

As a Quality Engineer at Xerxes in Hagerstown, you will play a critical role in strengthening and advancing our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) systems to ensure our products consistently meet customer, engineering, and regulatory standards. This role is essential to driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations by resolving quality issues, enhancing supplier and internal quality processes, and using data-driven insights to improve performance. You will collaborate across functions, influence teams, and help foster an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture that protects people, product integrity, and the environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a relevant field
  • 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing or quality engineering environments
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and production quality
  • Exposure to quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, or related methodologies
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems
  • Strong understanding of quality requirements and regulatory expectations
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive accountability across teams
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5–7 years of relevant industry experience
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • ISO 9001 internal auditor certification
  • Experience in industries such as heavy equipment manufacturing, industrial products, construction materials, composites, or oil & gas
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and advanced quality planning tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and maintain QHSE systems to ensure compliance with customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage internal, external, and supplier quality processes to maintain high product standards
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve non-conformances while implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Track, analyze, and report on quality performance using data metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve production quality and operational efficiency
  • Mentor and support colleagues in procurement and engineering to strengthen quality capabilities
  • Promote and reinforce a culture of safety, quality, and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) operations
  • Support production and quality goals at the Hagerstown facility by aligning quality systems with manufacturing needs
