About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Smithfield, PA. This role involves researching contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements, developing quality metrics and certification plans, analyzing supplier capabilities, participating in reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs, performing data analysis for manufacturing and test readiness, providing material review dispositions for non-conformances, analyzing non-conformance trends to evaluate corrective actions, and compiling performance reports. The position is available at two levels: Associate (Level 2) and Experienced (Level 3), with differing levels of responsibility and autonomy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • 1+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing.
  • 1+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
