About The Position

The Quality Engineer applies technical and problem-solving skills to ensure products and processes meet quality requirements. This role supports corrective actions, risk management, and continuous improvement across the organization and supply chain.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4 years in a full-time engineering or quality-related role required.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Understands the necessary elements of an operator controllable process. Apply quality engineering methods and structured problem-solving to resolve complex quality issues.
  • Internal Auditing Expertise: Understanding of ISO9001 QMS Requirements and experience conducting process audits in a manufacturing environment, including Audit reporting and Corrective Action initiation.
  • Root Cause Analysis Expertise: Use tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA to identify and prevent failures.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to support decisions. Firm command of descriptive statistics, intermediate or above excel skills. Effectively applies SPC and MSA in a factory setting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure quality integration.
  • Standards Knowledge: Understand ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards to ensure compliance.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and Product Quality Support: Apply quality engineering principles to ensure product and process compliance with quality standards.
  • Internal Audit Program: Plan and conduct internal audits to the ISO9001 Quality Management Standard and Wasco’s documented procedures.
  • Root Cause and Corrective Actions: Lead investigations into quality issues and develop corrective action plans.
  • Data Analysis and Risk Management: Analyze data, conduct risk assessments, and support FMEA and other preventive quality tools.
  • Supplier and Customer Support: Work with suppliers and customers to address quality requirements and resolve issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives that improve process capability, reduce defects, and enhance efficiency.
