The Quality Engineer position at the Erie Plant is a hands-on role heavily involved in the qualification of new molds and the correction of dimensional problems. This role will also be responsible for various special projects related to Quality Management and SPC, contributing to troubleshooting process issues in collaboration with production and technical teams. The position may involve maintaining raw materials, in-process, and finished goods specifications, and verifying the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. The Quality Engineer will participate in Design of Experiments (DOE) and other tests to analyze, improve, and qualify products and processes. Utilizing Infinity QS, the role will implement SPC and other statistical techniques, manage project management for new products, samples, and processes, and develop projects to enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency. Ensuring compliance with GMP requirements through microbiological testing and audits is also a key responsibility. The role involves setting up new items in the business system, adding them to Infinity, and verifying or creating quality plans. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will manage the internal audit system, including scheduling, follow-up, and ensuring discrepancies are addressed. Support for the plant's Food Packaging Safety Program, including the SQF System, is crucial, involving communication of essential information, reporting food safety problems, and covering key personnel absences to maintain system integrity. The role requires initiating action to prevent nonconforming products or quality systems, identifying and recording problems, recommending solutions, and preventing the shipment of nonconforming products. Continuous improvement suggestions for products, processes, and systems are also expected, along with verifying the implementation of solutions.
