About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract position with a Global Industrial Equipment Manufacturer in Duncan, SC. This is a 9+ month contract opportunity that is fully onsite. The role involves reviewing existing and outdated engineering drawings and specifications to ensure applicability, completeness, and manufacturability before they are used in bid packages. The position requires sound decision-making within established guidelines, application of modern engineering concepts to moderately complex issues, and problem resolution through collaboration with other departments.

Requirements

Experience reading and interpreting historical/legacy engineering drawings, including drawings dating back to the pre-1960s found on hand drawings and microfiche
Strong ability to read and understand engineering prints, schematics, and technical drawings
Ability to identify, verify and trace part numbers from engineering documentation
Ability to use modern day computer systems to find drawings and specifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

Background in Quality, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field
Manufacturing, industrial, transportation, or heavy equipment experience

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation
Collaborate with sourcing, engineering and quality to meet project objectives
Interpret legacy engineering drawings, including drawings created in the 1960s
Read and analyze technical drawings and specifications in the areas of electronics, fabrications, machining, hardware products and outside special processes (e.g., heat treatment, painting, plating, etc)
Track drawings and specifications in a database/spreadsheet for future action for other departments to resolve the problems or issues found
