About The Position

The Quality Engineer reports directly to the Plant Manager and represents and supports all Corporate Quality initiatives. This role acts as a liaison between Corporate departments (Engineering, Product Managers, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality Management) and the Middleton Manufacturing Plant when dealing with Quality related subject matters. The position involves measuring and monitoring assembly processes through first pass yield to drive continuous process improvement, developing and implementing robust corrective actions for field-related concerns, and supporting Mfg. Engineering teams in the development of new process and test equipment. The role requires the practice of quality tools such as 8D problem solving, Six Sigma, FMEA, control plans, and SPC. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will manage the day-to-day activities of Quality Technicians and lead training on Quality-related subject matter. Other Quality-related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred
  • Knowledge/use of quality tools such as: 8D problem solving, Control Plans, and SPC
  • Technical aptitude in electronics assembly preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to input data into computers and departmental systems
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and manuals
  • Ability to interact / communicate effectively with customers, employees, and external personal
  • Effectively communicate in English orally and in writing.
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and help prevent potential problems
  • Ability to solve practical problems within established parameters
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to deal with time sensitive situations on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to follow a set of procedures or set sequences

Responsibilities
