Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff.
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with determining necessary tool accuracy to be appropriate with given tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply measurement methods to inspection and/or testing.
  • Proficiency with measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, profilometer, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in related Engineering/Technology or Science required.
  • Two (2) plus years of related experience in manufacturing and production.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with extrusion and/or injection molding
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of polymer materials and/or processing (extrusion/molding).
  • Quality Assurance/Control certification

Responsibilities

  • Support in directing quality department workflow and priorities.
  • Support with disposition resolution (containment, corrective and preventative actions).
  • Hands-on support of testing, measurements and inspections.
  • Sets detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are in alignment with certification and regulatory requirements.
  • Audits GF systems based on ISO 9001 requirements and maintains aspects of the Quality Management System for ISO 9001 site certification.
  • Assists in determination of quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintains all Quality related equipment, resolves equipment failures and works with 3rd Party companies for in-depth resolutions if needed
  • Identifies the root of technical issues and recommend fixes.
  • Makes recommendations to improve product durability.
  • Assists in root-cause analysis and corrective action plans for customer complaints and all product related issues.
  • Prepares reports on malfunctions and corrective actions (e.g. number of defective raw materials per order)
  • Develops and maintains quality documentation.
  • Assists with setting and tracking quality assurance goals (e.g. reduce average turnaround time for quality checks by X%)
  • Coordinates with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance.
  • Works with internal and external teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products.
  • Works with internal and external teams on new product development activities via the M-Gate process and other various methods.
  • Supports MRB process to ensure deviations are agreed upon with specified departments and are fully documented.
  • Form department related Capital Expenditure project proposals, lead project implementation and assist in asset commissioning.
  • Track key quality metrics (PPM, scrap, capability indices, audit findings).
  • Prepare reports and present findings to leadership and cross functional teams.
  • Use statistical tools to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
