About The Position

The quality engineer is responsible for quality planning activities and leading corrective action investigations.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and function-specific software.
  • Strong attention to detail & organizational skills.
  • Desire to solve problems and learn new processes.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate problems and report root cause and corrective actions through the CCL reporting system
  • Work with cross-functional problem-solving teams on 8D reports
  • Own quality planning documentation and corrective actions for a specific area of the business
  • Develop product-specific test plans as part of the APQP process
  • Gather process and product data and report to the quality team to assist with continual improvement objectives
  • Routinely use quality tools such as Control Plans, PFMEA, procedure-writing, use of statistical quality control, lean manufacturing concepts, and Lean-Six Sigma tools and analyses
  • Perform material testing and diagnosis/recommendations for purchased products exhibiting either poor quality or poor performing characteristics
  • Provide customer requested documentation of claim details
  • Follow established process for handling customer deductions forwarded by accounts receivable.
  • Serve as neutral party between customer and organization in claim investigation
  • Regularly audit the process and products
  • Other duties, as assigned
