About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process quality through the implementation and maintenance of the AS9100 Quality Management System. This role supports compliance activities, leads internal and external audits, investigates quality issues by analyzing information and data, drives corrective and preventive actions, and partners with cross-functional teams to promote continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience
  • AS9100 QMS Managment
  • Familiar with working close to production environment
  • Knowledge of failure investigation techniques, 8D/5-Why/Fishbone, to determine root causes of failures
  • Familiar with working close to production environment
  • PC skills in MS office, with Word, Excel, Powerpoint formats

Responsibilities

  • Administers and maintains the AS9100 Quality Management System, leads internal and external audits, and drives corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Implement data collection techniques to monitor all manufacturing processes to identify causes of defects before they become trends
  • Works with engineering to improve the quality of existing production processes
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by utilizing statical methods relevant to the manufacturing process
  • Analyzes quality data, prepares reports, and recommends corrective actions, process improvements, and hardware disposition
  • Creates Non-Conformance Reports for all defects found on flight hardware
  • Utilize various failure investigation techniques, 8D/5-Why/Fishbone, to determine root causes of failures
  • Works with engineering to determine disposition of defects
  • Work with suppliers directly to create corrective action plans to address process failures and defects
  • Point of Contact for customer quality related issues
  • Prepare and present all customer documentation and delivery paperwork
  • Approves rework, repairs or finished product by confirming specifications, conducing visual and measurement test using calipers, gauges or micrometers
