About The Position

The Quality Engineer assists in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements, internal quality assurance and quality control activities, customer concerns, process control plans, and supplier quality issues. Performs quality engineering work to evaluate manufacturing processes or performance improvement projects for optimization. Duties also may include the development of processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical, Industrial or mechanical engineering or the equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to be flexible with your schedule as work hours will be based on business needs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical switchgear manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Find defects, determine the causes of those defects, and provide solutions to detect problems.
  • Design, install, and evaluate quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques.
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Analyze production and service limitations and standards.
  • Recommend revision of specifications.
  • Formulate or help formulate quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • May conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools.
  • Interface with all other engineering functions within an organization and with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance.
  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Collaborate with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues.
  • Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements in Procurement, Design and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Review specifications and processes.
  • Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipment.
  • Make sure processes adhere to quality standards.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Initiate and manage Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) requests, Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Non-Conformance (NC) reports, Deviation requests, and Short Ship documentation, ensuring proper approvals and timely closure.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
