About The Position

Performs Quality Engineering functions for all production programs. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role is primarily responsible for performing Quality Engineering functions, including knowledge and understanding of IATF 16949, preparing PPAP documentation, Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEA’s, establishing and participating in gauge design and Gage R & R, and providing manufacturing plant support for Quality issues. The role also involves determining the disposition of product, managing containment areas, assisting in the coordination of annual layout activities, providing print review/interpretation and CMM support, performing Layered Audits, updating/maintaining Quality documentation, and leading or being a member of internal Corrective Action teams. Additionally, this position provides supervision to Quality personnel, including timecard approval, scheduling, and performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years or more of automotive experience
  • Must be familiar with automotive supplier OEM Portals
  • Must be proficient in GR&R studies, CMM, SPC, GD&T, APQP, FMEA and PPAP
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate at all levels of organization, and with customer engineering and/or management
  • Ability to effectively apply problem solving / continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing principles
  • Strong manufacturing background
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • Customer focus – need to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
  • Practical knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection and quality engineering techniques, procedures, equipment, theories, and principles

Nice To Haves

  • Internal Auditor Certification strongly preferred (IATF 16949)

Responsibilities

  • Leading and/or being a member of internal Corrective Action teams
  • Providing supervision to Quality personnel including timecard approval, scheduling, and performance reviews
